Occassionally parents will write to us to ask if we carry or produce children’s golf shoes. Given that my background is in apparel manufacturing, we have not moved into this area just yet.

In an effort to provide parents with some guidance, we’ve done a bit of research and have found GlobalGolf.com who has a large selection of junior golf shoes where you can find a variety of styles and colors. Better still, they are sold at a discount.

At Globalgolf.com you can find brands such as Nike and Footjoy in an assortment of sizes and colors. Prices range from $39.99 to $74.99 and goods ship via UPS ground within the US. This company will also ship internationally.

I’ll continue to keep an eye out for other retailers of junior golf shoes.

All the best,

Not so long ago your child started taking golf lessons. He or she has been enjoying the experience and actually isn’t too bad either. The coach says he or she has some natural talent and your child continues to express an interest in the sport.

You on the other hand, no nothing about the game, other than what you’ve watched on TV and now that your child is really interested, it’s time to purchase some clubs of their own.

As a parent who knows nothing about golf, where should you turn to get the information needed to make an informed choice about junior golf clubs? Who produces the best ’starter kit’ type of clubs and what should a parent look for when buying junior clubs…..assuming their child is going to continue on with the sport for the long term.

Enquiring minds want to know. Comments are welcome.

Cheers,

Later this week it will be Halloween and I’m sure Thanksgiving will be a second thought as retailers rush to get people in the mood to start shopping for the holidays.

Having said that, I’m curious. What’s on your golf gift wish list? What’s the must have this year for junior golfers?

Cheers,

It’s been ages since I’ve been on the KTO website to post a blog. Has my life been that chaotic? Honestly, I can’t think of a good reason why I stopped, but I’m happy to be back.

I guess over the past few months I’ve found a newfound passion for learning about the world and other people through blogging (on other people’s sites no doubt). Nevertheless, I’m committed to getting back to Golf Speak on a regular and consistent basis.

We invite Moms, Dads, and junior golfers to join us, write in, let us know what’s new and exciting in your community or your latest accomplishment.

Cheers,

Pamela

I can’t believe it! Just when I was starting to get into the groove, AND having received my first set of clubs as a birthday gift, the weather has totally changed! It is as if the Gods don’t want me on the golf course.

Seriously! I was making good progress on my swing and getting the ball to go in the direction I wanted. I was eager to get out to the driving range and eventually on the green to try out my new clubs and wouldn’t you know it…. it hasn’t stopped raining since.

I guess this is a true example of Murphy’s Law. Or is this just a test to see how serious I am about the game?

I’m still optimistic and look forward to the sunny days where I can steal away for a few hours and hit a few balls.

Bring on the sun.

My initial lessons were a few years back, but I’ve started again with a new Golf Pro and feeling pretty good about my steady progress. I’ve only practiced at the driving range and should graduate soon to the golf course very soon.

Recently while on a holiday at an all inclusive resort, I had the opportunity to get on the green for the first time. The resort had a small 8 hole, par 3 course that my husband and I tried out. The tee off went fairly well. Once I arrived at my ball in the rough and went to hit the ball, a few divots later, all I could say was, “Oh my Gosh….. this is not the least bit easy!”  Real life and what I see on tv are not the same thing.

Clearly I have a long way to go, but I’m excited just the same. I now know what lies ahead and I’m more determined to work on hitting the ball straight and perfecting my swing. Then I can at least get on the green and know that once my ball is in the rough, I can look like I know what I’m doing and not hold up the people behind me.

Any suggestions for a 40-something beginner?
